Bitcoin was invented in 2008, by an anonymous person or group named Satoshi Nakamoto. It was rather released in 2009 as open-source software. It is also the very first digital currency which allows its users to send as well as receive money, regardless of interfering government or central bank. Bitcoin is rather a network of a large group of peers that controls the transactions. This is what we call a decentralized system.

Bitcoin is being used by many people. Its value is increasing day by day as it is decentralized as well as borderless. Furthermore, its security is also a reason for its popularity and its worth. Bitcoin is often known as Digital Gold, in reference to classic physical gold because of its scarcity (and its hard to produce). Bitcoin has a finite supply of coins available, similar to gold; there will only be 21 million bitcoins ever.

Bitcoin can never be devalued by printing more unlike fiat currencies such as USD, EUR, etc. because its supply is limited. Bitcoin has become appealing among many big countries and companies and its only a matter of time that other companies will follow.
